Effective March 25 until further Notice during COVID-19:
In accordance with the State of Emergency, the Randolph County Register of Deeds will be taking the following actions to promote social distancing strategies to slow the spread of COVID-19. We are establishing policies such as telecommuting and online services to increase the physical distance between employees and their customers.
Birth, Death and Marriage Certificates:
All certified copies of birth, death and marriage certificates will be available for purchase through the mail and online.
Any changes to a Randolph County certificate (birth amendment, legitimation or marriage license correction) will be handled by appointment only. Please call 336.318.6960 ext. 0. All substantiating proofs must be obtained and provided and must be pre-approved. Follow-up appointments may be necessary.
Marriage Licenses and Notary Oaths:
The issuance of Marriage Licenses and Notary Oaths will be available daily by appointment during the hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm. Since these services must be in person, because we must verify each person's identity, we ask customers to be present at scheduled times. Appointments can be made by contacting the Register of Deeds by phone 336.318.6960, ext 0. For the Marriage Licenses, you must first apply online (www.randrod.com) and we ask that only the couple be present. The licenses are valid for only 60 days. There are no refunds for licenses that are no longer valid.
All orders must be submitted through the online portal www.randrod.com or by fax 336.318.6970. We will call the Funeral Homes once orders are ready for pickup.
Recording Real Estate Documents:
At this time, we highly encourage electronic recording of all documents. You can still bring documents to the office for recording. We will have a station set up for anyone that wants to record in person. Those who mail in documents or eRecord will not see any change in operations. The online and in-office recordation of real estate documents will continue from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Please make sure checks or money orders are for the exact amount for the recording. There will be no changes to processing of e-recordings or for mail-in documents.

The Randolph County Register of Deeds is located in the Shaw Building directly across from the Historic Randolph County Courthouse at 158 Worth St., Asheboro NC. There is parking and an entrance in the rear of the building.
