Effective March 25 until further Notice during COVID-19:
In accordance with the State of Emergency, the Randolph County Register of Deeds will be taking the following actions to promote social distancing strategies to slow the spread of COVID-19. We are establishing policies such as telecommuting and online services to increase the physical distance between employees and their customers.
Birth, Death and Marriage Certificates:
All certified copies of birth, death and marriage certificates will be available for purchase through the mail, online and in person.
Any changes to a Randolph County certificate (birth amendment, legitimation or marriage license correction) will be handled by appointment only. Please call 336.318.6960 ext. 0. All substantiating proofs must be obtained and provided and must be pre-approved. Follow-up appointments may be necessary.
Marriage Licenses and Notary Oaths:
The issuance of Marriage Licenses and Notary Oaths will be available daily by appointment during the hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm. Since these services must be in person, because we must verify each person's identity, we ask customers to be present at scheduled times. Appointments can be made by contacting the Register of Deeds by phone 336.318.6960, ext 0. For the Marriage Licenses, you must first apply online (www.randrod.com) and we ask that only the couple be present. The licenses are valid for only 60 days. There are no refunds for licenses that are no longer valid.
All orders may be submitted through the online portal www.randrod.com or by fax 336.318.6970. We will call the Funeral Homes once orders are ready for pickup.
The Register of Deeds Office is committed to providing all services in a safe yet effective way for the duration of this situation. These plans are subject to change as the situation evolves.
