Sheriff's Office Significant Arrests Posted on March 18, 2026

In January 2026, members of the Invictus Task Force initiated an investigation related to multiple Cybertips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. During the course of the investigation, Cody Harris Alford was identified as a suspect.  

On March 18, 2026, the Invictus Task Force with the assistance of Johnston County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant, as a result Cody Harris Alford was subsequently taken into custody and charged with six (6) counts of Felony Second- Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. Alford was transported to the Forsyth County Detention Center where the magistrate issued a $100,000 secure bond and set a first appearance in Forsyth County District Court for March 19, 2026. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Invictus Task Force representatives.

The Invictus Task Force is a joint effort of Randolph, Alamance, Davidson, Forsyth, Rockingham Counties, the Liberty Police Department, the State Bureau of Investigation, and Homeland Security in the fight against internet crimes against children (ICAC), sexual abuse, trafficking, and the exploitation of children using a collaboration of resources as a force multiplier.
