On October 5, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle stolen from the area of Deaton Rd., Trinity. Later in the day, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at Coltrane St. and Hopewell Church Rd. in Trinity. Upon arrival, deputies observed a female, later identified as Kelsey Paige Hedgecock, sitting in the driver seat of a vehicle matching the description of the one reported stolen.
Following the investigation, Hedgecock was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony break and/or enter a motor vehicle, felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and felony larceny of a motor vehicle. No bond was given due to the Pre-Trial Integrity Act. A first appearance was set for October 6, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
