On October 27, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to McCranford Rd., Asheboro, in reference to a vehicle theft. The victim reported locating the vehicle in this area near US 220 Business. Following the investigation, charges were sought against Shikira Laquandris Lea for felony larceny of a motor vehicle and misdemeanor larceny.
On November 1, 2023, Lea was located by the Criminal Apprehension Team, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where she was served her outstanding warrant. No bond was given due to the Pre-Trial Integrity Act. A first appearance was set for November 2, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
