On November 6, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Friendly Lane, Ramseur, at the request of the Fire Marshals Office, who had conducted a fire investigation and believed the fire had been intentionally set at the residence.
Following their investigation and a simultaneous investigation by the Sheriff’s Office, the homeowner, Adlai Stevenson Moore, who was on scene, was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony fraudulently burning the dwelling. He was given a $1,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for November 7, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
