On December 21, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Old Lexington Rd., Asheboro, in reference to an agency assist with NC Probation and Parole. Upon arrival, they located the officers inside the residence with Joshua Allred, who was resisting apprehension.
Deputies were able to arrest Allred and turned him over to Probation Officers for their charges. Randolph County EMS responded for evaluation and Probation accompanied him to the hospital for further evaluation.
Subsequently, a deputy was notified by the Probation Officer that narcotics were located on Allred while at the hospital. The deputy and met the officer to seize the substance and place it into evidence. The deputy obtained a warrant on Allred for felony possession of schedule I controlled substance and misdemeanor resisting public officer.
Upon release from the hospital, Allred was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his warrant. He was issued a $5,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for December 22, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
He was also served warrants for four counts of felony probation violation and issued an additional $35,000 secured bond.
