On December 25, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to US Hwy 64 W., Asheboro, about a possible vehicle theft. Upon arrival and investigation, it was determined that Brandon Flinchum-Fenti had taken possession of a vehicle and a cell phone without authorization. The victim was able to track the phone and gather some information about its location. During this time, another deputy made contact with NC Probation/Parole Division since Flinchum-Fenti is on court-ordered probation and had a GPS monitoring device. The deputy
located the reported missing vehicle traveling on N. Fayetteville St., followed it into a parking lot of a business, made contact with the driver and located Flinchum-Fenti, in the passenger seat. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony larceny, felony possession of stolen goods, misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods. He was issued a $25,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for December 28, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
The victim responded to the scene to take possession of the recovered property.
