On January 9, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Huntington Rd., Ramseur, in reference to a vehicle theft. Upon arrival, the victim reported having a vehicle towed to South Lake Dr. to be repaired. On January 7, 2024, she was advised that the vehicle was no longer on the property. Deputies went to the address and spoke with Brianna Janay Stultz-Newsom, who said she had no information as to where it may be or who had taken it.
On January 10, 2024, deputies located the vehicle on Teresa Way. The individual produced a receipt dated January 7, 2024, for the purchase of the vehicle and named the individuals from which it was purchased.
Charges were sought against Stultz-Newsom and Erwin Quint Richardson for felony obtain property by false pretense. The magistrate found probable cause and issued the warrants.
On January 23, 2024, Stultz-Newsom, currently confined in the Randolph County Detention Center, was served her warrant for arrest. No bond was issued. A first appearance is set for January 24, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
On January 24, 2024, Richardson was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his warrant. A bond was not authorized due to having pending charges. A court date has been set for March 6, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
