The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report for a welfare check. Following the investigation, charges were sought against Douglas Dwayne Foster for felony possession of a firearm by a felon and misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun on February 9, 2024. The magistrate found probable cause for the charges and issued a warrant.
On February 12, 2024, Foster was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served the warrant. The magistrate issued no bond and a first appearance was set for February 13, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
