On January 11, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible sex offense upon a minor. Following an investigation of the allegations, Criminal Investigation Detectives sought charges against Jeremiah Alan Chaney for ten counts of felony first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, felony statutory sex offense with child less than or equal to 15 and ten counts felony disseminate obscenity.
On March 18, 2024, Chaney was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served the warrants. The magistrate issued a $100,000 total secured bond and a first appearance was set for March 19, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
