On April 1, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Deputies encountered Jonathan Cass Carter on Hwy 64 E. near Lake Side Park Rd., Franklinville. Carter had an outstanding warrant for arrest and he was taken into custody. During a search to arrest, methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Carter was given no bond due to being on pre-trial release. A first appearance was set for April 2, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
