The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registry Detective reported that sex offender Marquise Ledell Caviness has failed to return his address verification letter as required by law. Charges were sought and the magistrate found probable cause to issue warrants for two counts of felony fail to register as a sex offender.
On April 18, 2024, Caviness was located by the Asheboro Police Department in their jurisdiction. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served the warrant. He was issued a $50,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for April 19, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
