On April 19, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Old NC Hwy 49, Asheboro, in reference to a welfare check on a subject. Upon arrival, deputies located the referenced subject, who was identified as Christopher Shane Brundage, slumped over in the vehicle with paraphernalia visible. They were able to wake him after several attempts. During a subsequent search, methamphetamine, heroin, and additional paraphernalia were located.
Brundage was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamines, felony possession of heroin, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a $10,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for April 22, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
