On December 19, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Mendenhall Rd., Archdale, in reference to a reported larceny/theft of items. Upon arrival, the victim was able to provide evidence related to the incident and information was collected for further investigation.
On March 14, 2024, during the continued investigation, Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division found that Christopher Shawn Blakely had sold items as scrap metal that matched those that were reported stolen. Charges were sought against Blakely for felony obtaining property by false pretense and felony larceny.
On May 15, 2024, Blakely was located in Davidson County, arrested, and transported to the Davidscon County Detention Center where he was served his warrant. The magistrate issued a $5,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for June 12, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
