On May 26, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Finch Farm Rd., Trinity, in reference to a welfare check. The caller stated that a vehicle had been sitting at a gas pump for several hours, the driver seemed to be sleeping, and they were concerned.
Upon arrival and contact with the driver, the deputy and fire personnel were able to wake the male. EMS responded for evaluation. Initially, the male asked to be transported. During the inventory to tow the vehicle, methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located. The driver, Rodney Clay Cribb, Jr. changed his mind and chose not to be transported. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia. His release was not authorized and his first appearance was set for May 28, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
