On June 4, 2024, Dawley was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served with his warrant for arrest. His release/bond was not authorized and a first appearance was set for June 5, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.

On May 20, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Old 421 Rd., Liberty, in reference to a suspicious person. The caller reported observing a male on a surveillance camera on the property before the cameras stopped working and was able to provide a photo.
Upon arrival, Tyler Ray Miller was located in a vehicle on the property. He stated he was riding with his co-worker Christopher Wayne Dawley but was unsure of Dawley’s location at that time.
While continuing the investigation, it was determined that both security cameras were removed from the building after they had captured images of Dawley. Those images matched the identity of Dawley. Other deputies located burglary tools in the wood line near the vehicle. The caller had reported hearing drilling before the cameras disconnected.
Miller was placed under arrest for felony possession of burglary tools and misdemeanor aid & abet larceny. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center and brought before the magistrate who found probable cause for the charges and issued a written promise to appear on June 10, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
Charges were sought on Dawley for felony possession of burglary tools, misdemeanor larceny, misdemeanor injury to real property, and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods/property, and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for arrest. Attempts to locate Dawley have been unsuccessful and we are asking the public for assistance.
