On June 16, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to Wesley Farm Ln., Sophia, in reference to an agency assist with NC Probation and Parole. During a home visit and inspection of Nathan Arlin Buttke and Debra Aileen Conner, probation officers located illegal substances and paraphernalia. They were placed under arrest and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for their charges, as follows:
Buttke - felony possession of schedule I controlled substance and two counts of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and received a written promise to appear in Randolph County District Court on July 1, 2024.
Conner – felony possession of schedule I controlled substance, misdemeanor simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Conner received a $15,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for June 24, 2024.
