On May 18, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Bethel Lucas Rd, Asheboro in reference to a family fight/trespassing. During the investigation, Claude Daniel Beane, who had previously been trespassed from the property, stated he couldn’t locate his wallet but left the property. Deputies located it on the property containing heroin and paraphernalia. Charges were sought against Beane for felony possession of heroin and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant.
On June 22, 2024, Beane was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate issued a $2,500 secured bond. A first appearance was set for June 24, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
