On June 2, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Thayer Rd., Trinity, in reference to an armed robbery and theft of a motor vehicle. Randolph County deputies, along with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the address on Kennedy Rd., in Davidson County where the stolen vehicle was located.
Following an investigation, charges were sought against the multiple suspects and the magistrate found probable cause for the charges, as follows:
Jeremy Eugene Avant; felony larceny of a motor vehicle, felony possession of stolen motor vehicle, felony robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Timithy Michael Mullins; felony larceny of a motor vehicle and felony robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Jessica Lynn Hicks and Dustin Scott Marion; felony conspiracy.
On June 13, 2024, Mullins was apprehended by the Criminal Apprehension Team on Cashatt Rd., Trinity. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his warrant and the magistrate issued a $100,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for June 14, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
On June 14, 2024, Hicks was apprehended by the Criminal Apprehension Team on Thayer Rd., Trinity. Initially, Hicks failed to comply with commands and was located hiding under the residence. She was arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where she was served her outstanding warrant and the magistrate found probable cause for a charge of misdemeanor resisting a public officer. The magistrate issued a $15,000 total secured bond and a first appearance was set for June 17, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
On June 19, 2024, Avant was apprehended by the Criminal Apprehension Team on Thayer Rd., Trinity, and placed under arrest. Avant was also wanted out of York County, South Carolina, for Possession of a Firearm/Knife during a crime of violence. York County advised they would extradite. He was arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his outstanding warrant. Avant was not given a bond on this matter. The magistrate found probable cause for the Fugitive Order and issued a $50,000 secured bond on the order. A first appearance was set for June 24, 2024, in Randolph County District Court. He was also served his felony probation violation.
On July 1, 2024, Marion was located by the Criminal Investigations Division on Beckerdite Rd., Sophia, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his outstanding warrant. The magistrate issued no bond and a first appearance was set for July 8, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
