On April 5, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division received a report regarding a reported fraud that had occurred on Ferguson Rd., Ramseur. The victim provided evidence for the investigation.
Following the investigation, charges were sought against Benjamin Hunter Bowman on July 2, 2024, for felony identity theft and felony obtaining property by false pretense and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant. Bowman is currently confined in the Randolph County Detention Center on unrelated charges and was served his warrant. The magistrate issued no bond and a court date was set for July 8, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
