On July 9, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 220 S., Asheboro. During the investigative stop, the deputy observed paraphernalia in the possession of the passenger, identified as Bryan Lee McWhorter. During a subsequent search, methamphetamine was located in the passenger area of the vehicle and McWhorter’s possession. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. McWhorter was released on a written promise and has a court date on July 15, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
