On July 16, 2024, while patrolling the area of Dawson Miller Rd., Asheboro, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office made contact with a female who was with a vehicle parked on the side of the road with a flat tire. The female identified herself as Crystal Meris Wimbley and stated she was waiting for someone to bring a new tire. During the investigation, it was determined Wimbley was on active probation. During a subsequent search, methamphetamine was located.
She was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine. She was issued a $2,500 secured bond and her first appearance was set for July 17, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
