On July 18, 2024, during an unrelated investigation, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team encountered Emil Ivan Eaglin, a fugitive wanted out of Aiken County, South Carolina, on felony charges involving distribution and possession of illegal narcotics. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was charged as a fugitive by the Criminal Apprehension Team Detectives and taken before the magistrate who issued a $100,000 secured bond. An extradition hearing was set for July 19, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
