On August 11, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Old Cox Rd., Asheboro, in reference to an assault in progress. Upon arrival, the victim was located with visible injuries and the suspect, who had been identified as Quinland Chyqwon Pratt, had fled. During the investigation, Pratt did return and was placed under arrest. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause felony assault by strangulation, misdemeanor domestic violence protective order violation, misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, and misdemeanor assault inflicting serious injury. No bond was given and a first appearance was set for August 12, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
