On August 5, 2024, Randolph County Detention Center inmate Kelsey Bay Fogle spit on a detention officer while working with her inside her cell. Charges were sought Fogle and the magistrate found probable cause for felony malicious conduct by prisoner. Fogle had already been released upon issuance of the warrant.
On September 1, 2024, Fogle was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where she was served the warrant and received a $5,000 secured bond with a first appearance set for September 3, 2024, in Randolph County District Court. She was also served an order for arrest for failure to appear on a misdemeanor and received and additional $1,000 secured bond.
