On September 23, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to US Highway 64 East, Asheboro, in reference to a welfare check. Deputies arrived and located a female who identified herself as Gracie Mellisa Brown. During a subsequent search, an illegal substance and paraphernalia were located. She was arrested and transported to Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She was issued a $2,000 secure bond and is set to appear at Randolph County District Court on September 24, 2024.
