On September 27, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Old Liberty Rd., Franklinville, in reference to an armed person. While en route the caller stated that Fernando Palacios was armed with a firearm and had fired several shots. Upon arrival, the caller stated there had been a verbal altercation and Palacios became irate, retrieved a firearm, and fired multiple shots. Several shell casings were located and collected. The firearm was seized. Palacios is a convicted felon. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of a firearm by felon and given a $10,000 unsecured bond. A court date was set for September 30, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
