On October 14, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to Cable Farm Trl., Randleman, in reference to the larceny/theft of four-wheelers that had already occurred. The victim reported seeing the four-wheelers, listed by Kelly Lamar Faircloth, on Facebook Marketplace for sale.
On October 16, 2024, following an investigation by the Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit, Detectives discovered that the items had been traded for a firearm. Detectives, along with the assistance of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, recovered two four-wheelers in Rowan County. The remainder of the four-wheelers were recovered in Randolph County. Charges were then sought on Faircloth for felony obtain property by false pretense and felony possession of a firearm by a felon.
On October 18, 2024, the Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit executed a search warrant at Faircloth’s residence. During the search, numerous items of evidence were seized. Faircloth was not present at the time of the search.
On October 22, 2024, Faircloth turned himself in at the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served with his warrant. He was issued no bond and a first appearance was set for October 23, 2024, in Randolph County District Court. During his first appearance, the judge set a $100,000 secured bond and Electronic House Arrest.
Following the investigation, an additional charge was sought against Faircloth for felony possession of firearm by felon. Still confined at the Detention Center, he was served the warrant and issued an additional $5,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for October 25, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
