On August 8, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible child abuse incident. Following an investigation of the allegations, Criminal Investigation Detectives sought charges against Zomar Obryan Cheek for felony intentional child abuse causing serious physical injury.
On November 12, 2024, Cheek was located by the Criminal Apprehension Team, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served the warrant. The magistrate issued a $50,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for November 13, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
