On November 19, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Edgar Rd., Sophia, in reference to a larceny that had already occurred. The caller reported upon arrival to work, they noticed tools and copper missing from work vehicles.
Following an investigation by the Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit, charges were sought against Travis Michael Wood for two counts of felony break/enter motor vehicle, two counts of felony larceny, two counts of felony possession of stolen goods/property, and felony obtain property by false pretense.
On November 26, 2024, the Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit, along with the Criminal Apprehension Team, located and arrested Travis Wood on Hollyridge Dr. in Trinity. During the arrest, Detectives located stolen items from this incident, along with a utility trailer that was reported stolen from Tobacco Rd. in Trinity on September 28, 2024.
Wood was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his warrant. No bond was issued and a first appearance was set for November 27, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
