On September 6, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Hopewell Church Rd, Trinity, in reference to a breaking/entering and theft of items. Crime Scene Investigations responded to collect evidence.
Following an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, charges were sought against Charles Paul Thompson for felony breaking and/or entering, felony larceny after break/enter, felony safecracking, felony possession stolen goods/property and misdemeanor communicating threats. The magistrate found probable cause and issued a warrant for arrest.
On November 27, 2024, Thompson was located in Davidson County, arrested, and transported to the Davidson County Detention Center where he was served his warrant. He was given no bond. Following his first appearance a new bond was set for $15,000 secured and a court date was set for January 22, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
