On February 2, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a possible sex offense upon a minor. Following the investigation of the allegations, Nathan James Covington was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for charges of felony indecent liberties with a child and misdemeanor sexual battery. Covington was issued a $150,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for February 3, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
