On February 22, 2025, Randolph County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a welfare check on a subject in a vehicle parked at a business on Old Thomasville Road, Archdale. The male finally awoke after numerous attempts by deputies to wake him. While the male was stepping out of the vehicle, the deputy observed an illegal substance and paraphernalia in the vehicle. The male, identified as Charles Nathaniel Spivey, was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of heroin, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor possession of schedule III controlled substance. Spivey was issued a $5,000 secured bond and the first appearance was set for February 24, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
