On March 9, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office observed a vehicle parked at an abandoned building. Upon investigation, a female, later identified as Stephanie Morton Johnston, was located asleep inside the vehicle.
During a subsequent search, an illegal substance and paraphernalia were located. Johnston was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She was not issued a bond due to being out on pre-trial release. A first appearance was set for March 10, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
