On April 27, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Mill Pond Dr., Sophia, in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies located Matthew Antonio Lampkins and Kenneth Wayne Linton. During the investigation, Randolph Communications advised that both subjects had outstanding processes and they were taken into custody. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, illegal narcotics were located.
They were transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for charges of felony possession of cocaine and felony possession of methamphetamine against Matthew Antonio Lampkins. He was given no bond on the new charges. He was also served with his outstanding orders for arrest and issued a $16,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for April 28, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
Additionally, the magistrate found probable cause for possession of drug paraphernalia for Kenneth Linton. Linton was also served with his outstanding order for arrest out of Davidson County and his outstanding warrant for arrest out of Cabarrus County. Linton was given no bond for the possession of drug paraphernalia and his warrant out of Cabarrus County. He was given a $500 bond for his order for arrest out of Davidson County. A first appearance was set for April 28, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
