On June 2, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Garren Town Rd., Asheboro, in reference to a larceny that had already occurred. Following an investigation by the Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit, Anthony Wayne Carter was identified as the suspect.
On June 4, 2025, detectives with the Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit, along with the Patrol division and Probation and Parole, located and arrested Anthony Wayne Carter. He was transported to Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served with an order for arrest for felony probation violation. He was also charged with felony larceny, felony possession of stolen goods/property, misdemeanor larceny, and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods/property. He was issued a $160,000 secured bond plus Electronic House Arrest, with a first appearance set for June 6, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
