On June 16, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on Finch Farm Rd., Trinity. The driver did not comply, continued at a high speed, and a pursuit ensued. While attempting to turn onto I-85 southbound, the driver lost control of the vehicle because of wet road conditions, resulting in a traffic accident. He was identified as Christopher Roger Todd. Charges were sought against Todd for felony flee/elude arrest with a motor vehicle and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant. While at the magistrate’s office, another deputy reported locating a firearm during the search and seizure of the vehicle. Todd, being a convicted felon, the magistrate also issued a warrant for the charge of felony possession of a firearm by a felon.
