On June 25, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Old US Hwy 64 East at the request of NC Probation and Parole due to locating an illegal substance and paraphernalia during a home search. Brandi Nicole Hopkins and William Anthony Stewart were arrested on their probation violations and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. Probation Officers transported Hopkins and Stewart to the Randolph County Detention Center.
Hopkins was served with an outstanding absconder warrant, which had a preset bond of $75,000. The deputy sought charges against Hopkins, and the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She was issued a $10,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for June 26, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
Charges were also sought against Stewart for felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, for which the magistrate found probable cause. Stewart was served and issued a secured $10,000 bond. A court date for June 26, 2025. He was also served his probation violations and received no bond.
