On July 16, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice Narcotics Enforcement Team, along with NC Probation and Parole, searched the residence of Joshua Daniel Prestwood, located on US Hwy 64 E., in Asheboro. During the search, Detectives located and seized a firearm along with ammunition. Prestwood is not allowed to be in possession of a firearm due to his convicted felon status.
As a result, Joshua Prestwood was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for the charge of felony possession of a firearm by a felon. He received no bond with a first appearance set for July 18, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
