On August 17, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Oakhurst Rd., Asheboro. During the investigation, it was discovered that the passenger, identified as Amanda Leann Powers, had an active Order For Arrest for felony probation violation.
The search to arrest led to the discovery of an illegal substance and paraphernalia.
Powers was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She was given a $10,000 secured bond.
Ms. Powers was also served with the Felony Probation Violation, which had a pre-set $100,000 secured bond.
A first appearance was scheduled for August 18, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
