On February 21, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to US HWY 220 Bus. S.; NC Dept. of Corrections in reference to a drug violation call for service. During a Corrections Officer’s search of an inmate, heroin was located. This case was presented before a magistrate, and a warrant was obtained for Danny Harris, Jr., for felony possession of a controlled substance in a jail/prison. The magistrate found probable cause, and a warrant was issued.
On August 14, 2025, Harris was served his warrant in Stanley County, given a $10,000 secured bond, and his court date was set for September 8, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
