On October 18, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of fraud.
Following an investigation by the Randolph County Criminal Investigations Division, charges were sought on August 4, 2025, against Joseph Bryan Baird for felony Embezzlement >=$100,000, and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for arrest.
On September 5, 2025, Baird was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served his warrant. He was issued a $25,000 secured bond, and a first appearance was scheduled for September 8, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
