On September 12, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding the communication of threats. Upon arrival, the suspect, who was identified as Edward Scott Wright, was quickly detained.
EMS responded to evaluate Wright, and he was later transported by law enforcement to a hospital for further treatment.
Charges were sought against Wright for felony possession of a firearm by a felon (f), and two counts of misdemeanor communicating threats. The magistrate found probable cause and issued the warrant.
Following evaluation, Wright was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served his warrant and was issued no bond, and his first appearance was set for September 15, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
