On October 1, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Brown Oaks Rd., Randleman, in reference to a theft in progress. While en route, the Randleman Police Department advised Communications they had located two subjects on Salem St. and Old Greensboro Rd. on foot who matched the description provided by the caller. The subjects were identified as Timothy Clyde Reitzel, Jr., and Hanna Faith Shankel. They had multiple household items and tools in their possession, and other similar items were located along the roadway. Deputies responded to the Salem St. location, where both subjects were placed under arrest following the investigation. During a search to arrest, methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located in the possession of Reitzel.
They were transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges as follows:
Reitzel: felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor larceny, and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods. He was given a $5,000 secured bond.
Shankel: misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods. She was given no bond due to being on pre-trial release.
A first appearance was set for October 3, 2025, in Randolph County District Court for both.
