On November 27, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to US Hwy 311, Archdale, in reference to a larceny/theft in progress. Upon arrival, subjects were located on the property and identified.
Following the investigation, Robbie Avalon Roberts and Amanda Renee Routh were arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for charges as follows:
- Roberts: felony larceny of motor vehicle parts, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, felony maintain vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substance, felony possession of controlled substance on jail premise, two counts of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He received no bond.
- Routh - felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, felony possession of schedule IV controlled substance, and two counts of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She received no bond
A first appearance was set for November 28, 2025, for both.
While still on scene, a deputy observed an individual jump from a vehicle that was unrelated to the original call and take off running. A foot chase ensued, capturing the female a short distance away. During a subsequent search, fentanyl was located. It was later discovered that Leigh Ann Locklear initially falsely identified herself.
Locklear was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony identity theft, felony break/enter a motor vehicle, felony possession schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor resisting public officer. The magistrate issued a $30,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for December 1, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
Locklear was also served her outstanding orders for arrest for failure to appear and received a $60,000 secured bond.
