On January 21, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to NC Hwy 49 and Graves Thomas Rd., Ramseur, in reference to an agency assist request involving a motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival, it was determined that the vehicle had been stolen out of Greensboro. The driver, who initially gave a false name, was later identified as Bryant Ernest Hawkins.
During a search incident to arrest, Deputies located an illegal substance, and Hawkins was placed under arrest and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony identity theft, felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, felony possession of a schedule I controlled substance, and misdemeanor resisting, delaying, or obstructing an officer. He was issued a $10,000 secured bond, and his first appearance was set for January 22, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
