On February 16, 2026, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Hawthorne Dr., Asheboro, regarding a burglary in progress. While enroute to the address, deputies were informed that a female was armed with a baseball bat and had broken a window to the home, attempting to gain entry. Upon arrival, a female was observed yelling into the broken window, and a broken window was also noted on the storm door. The female was taken into custody and identified as Robin Taylor Lawson.
Following the investigation, Lawson was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges of felony first-degree burglary, misdemeanor communicating threats, and misdemeanor injury to real property. Lawson was given no bond, and a first appearance was set for February 17, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
