On July 18, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Electronic House Arrest (EHA) Officers were made aware that Jill Elizabeth Benedict had violated his conditions of EHA. Deputies responded to the Adult Day Reporting Center (ADC) where they were advised that Benedict had tested positive for methamphetamine. She was taken into custody and transported the EHA office. While at the EHA office, she admitted to having methamphetamine in her possession. During a subsequent search, methamphetamine was located in her purse. She was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for the felony possession of methamphetamine and issued a $5,000 secured bond The magistrate also found probable cause for the Order for Arrest for the felony electronic house arrest violation and issued a $75,000 secure bond with the added conditions that she return to EHA and DRC when released. A first appearance was scheduled for July 19, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
Benedict was placed on EHA on May 10, 2023, and has violated her conditions of pre-trial release on two prior occasions.
