On July 28, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Wesley Farm Ln., Sophia, in reference to a welfare check. Upon arrival, deputies located a female, identified as Debra Aileen Conner, sitting at the end of the cul-de-sac. Upon seeing the deputy, she began to try to hide something in her hand. Upon approach, the deputy observed paraphernalia and torn plastic baggies with the remnants of an unidentified substance. During the investigation, it was determined the female had just taken the substance.
During a subsequent search, suspect illegal narcotics were located in her possession and seized. Due to the use of the unidentified substance just being consumed, Randolph County EMS was requested to respond for an evaluation of Connor.
Following an investigation, charges against Conner were sought for felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
On August 7, 2023, Conner was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where she was served the outstanding warrant for this incident. The magistrate issued a $2,500 secured bond and a first appearance was set for August 8, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
