On August 10, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Seagrove Plank Rd., Asheboro, in reference to a reported breaking and entering. Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim who advised that an unknown white male entered their home through an unlocked door and walked into their house while they were there. The victim confronted the suspect, later identified as Justin Gardner, who said his car ran out of gas at the end of road. The victim ran toward the suspect and the suspect fled from the house.
While searching the area, a vehicle was located not far from the residence on Old Plank Rd. The owner of the vehicle was contacted who advised Justin Marvin Gardner was using the vehicle and where he presently resides. Deputies were unable to located Gardner at that address at that time.
Charges were sought felony first degree burglary and the magistrate found probable cause to issue the warrant.
On August 10, 2023, Gardner was located by the Criminal Apprehension Team, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his outstanding warrant for this incident. He was also served an outstanding warrant out of Moore County for felony breaking and/or entering, felony larceny after break/enter, and felony possession of stolen goods. He was issued a $30,000 total secured bond. A first appearance was set for August 11, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
